Swiftfoot turned his gaze over at Flarestalker who seemed to have awoken at last. "Not anything of importance. Unless you have to know that Shadowflower took Thrushpaw out to gather herbs." he flicked his tail. "Now that you are awake, why don't you join this hunting patrol? That way I can get more time to go wake the other warriors and send off a border patrol as well." he said shortly, deciding that it wouldn't matter if it was him or Flarestalker who went on the hunting patrol.

Flarestalker sighed and rolled her eyes. She still felt a bit tired. "Fine," she yawned. "I'll go." she walked over to the hunting patrol and greeted them with a small murmur.

Swiftfoot narrowed his eyes at her apparent reluctantness to do the order, though did not question her further. Instead of talking on with her he walked over towards the small hill once again, settling down upon it he gazed over the clearing, noting every single movement. He doubted it would be smart to wake the warriors just yet, it was indeed quite early on the morning. He knew very well that it wouldn't be neccesary with a border patrol this early at the day, seeing that few clan cats was awake anyway.

Whirlingtempest returned Swftfoot's greeting and was about to confirm that yes, of course he could join them, when Swiftfoot told Flarestalker instead to accompany them. The scraggly tom shrugged indifferently and meowed, "Sure, you can come, Flarestalker."

Flarestalker hissed silently. "I already knew that, Whirlingtempest." she murmured quietly. "C'mon, let's go." she meowed impatiently. She was eager to go and dig her claws into a freshly killed piece of prey.

The gray tom flicked an annoyed tail at Flarestalker and shrugged again. "Sorry, jeez," he muttered. Then, he followed the she-cat out of camp and into the forest. "So, where are we hunting? Any preferences?" he asked, glancing sideways at her as they traveled further from ShadowClan camp.

Whirlingtempest nodded shortly and headed off towards a drier part of ShadowClan territory, where there were sure to be voles or something hiding in the undergrowth. Sure enough, as they approached, the tom could hear a faint scrambling noise. Whirlingtempest angled his ears towards the other side of a bush, trying to convey to Flarestalker and Hawktalon without using words that he wanted them to catch whatever it was when he scared it out of the bush. Hoping that they would understand and obey him, he got into position.

ooc;; Ash, since Flarestalker and Whirlingtempest have already left, how about we pretend that Hawktalon was with them all along?

Flarestalker nodded to Whirlingtempest and crouched down, ready to catch the prey. She circled around the side of the push and flicked her tail, signalling to him he could scare it out.

*Hawktalon stalked a little further from the bush. His eyes were sharp, his claws extended, ready to pounce on the vole. He covered the Eastern side of the bush, slowly stalking closer so he'd have an easier range. He flicked his tail to Whirlingtempest.*

Shadowfeather nodded at Thrushpaw when she noticed he had found some cobweb. She searched a little farther away from the camp but, she could still see the camp. She looked at a little tree to her right, nothing. Then she saw a burrow, she smelled to make sure it was abandoned. She reached her paw inside as soon as she confirmed it was empty. She felt a pretty good size of cobwebs. She wrapped them around her tail and pounce towards Thrushpaw. "I found this," she said as she showed him the cobweb. "You think it's enough for now?"

Whirlingtempest waited for his Clanmates were ready, checked his hunter's crouch for any misplacements in limbs or weight, then crept forward silently until he was closer to the bush. He could still hear the prey's frantic scuttling, which meant that it hadn't noticed them yet. With a wild gleam in his eyes, he leapt towards the bush, yowling loudly. His aim was to scare the mouse out of the bush, hopefully into the paws of either Hawktalon or Flarestalker, and they would catch it. He batted the bush around and crouched down to look under it, but he could see nothing in the shadows. Was the prey already out, or did it have an escape hole under the bush? StarClan forbid that was the case.

Flarestalker pounced onto a vole that Whirlingtempest scared out of the bush. She silently gave it a killing bite the neck and sneaked up behind Whirlingtempest to show him the catch. She dropped the prey at her paws and chuckled as she watched him look for the prey. She wondered what he was thinking.

One of Whirlingtempest's ears flicked backwards at a slight sound and he knew what had just happened - He had made a fool of himself right in front of his Clanmates. Sighing heavily, he turned around and congratulated Flarestalker on her catch.

Flarestalker smiled a tiny bit out of pride. "So um... We gonna hunt some more?" she meowed. She dug a small hole and buried the prey. Then stood up straight and waited for Whirlingtempest to respond.

She sniggered quietly in her amusement. These cats were so DUMB! That's a way to hunt? Wow.....truly amusing though! Good show!

Thrushpaw looked at what Shadowfeather had collected, but was surprised she asked him whether it was enough. Isn't she the medicine cat of the two of us? he thought quietly, though he nodded. "Sure, it looks like a good amount. With the cobwebs we found earlier as well, we ought to have replenished the cobweb stocks for a while." he said with a soft smile. That is, if the clan didn't hurt themselves while hunting. Sighing he longed to go hunt with the patrol, though knew very well that he could not. Instead of continuing to feel sorry for himself he grabbed the cobwebs he had and looked up at Shadowfeather. "Are we returning to camp then?" he asked.

"Yes, we should be heading back to the camp." Shadowfeather said while walking back towards the camp. "How's your wound feeling? Not hurting or anything, is it?" She questioned and looked towards Thrushpaw. She pushed back through into the camp and trotted over to her den.

Whirlingtempest nodded and waited as Flarestalker buried the prey, then he meowed, "Yes, we'll hunt some more. Let's spread out around this area and search for any other little edible things hiding in bushes. Your prey didn't squeal, Flarestalker, or at least I didn't hear it, so there's a good chance nothing else did, either." He glanced at the other two to make sure that this was alright with them, then headed off into the undergrowth to search for more prey.

Once, he thought he heard something in the trees above him, but when he looked up, it was only a sparrow. The bird was too high up in the smaller branches to bother going after, but he decided to see if it would come down to the ground after a while, and in the meantime, looked for ground prey.
