Territory Landmarks:

Camp - It lies at the foot of a sandy ravine, protected by thornbushes. The camp is easy to defend and hard to attack.

Tallpines - Pines near the SkyClan border.

The Great Sycamore - One of the largest trees with strong and thick branches.

The Owl Tree - A tree that serves home to a tawny owl.

Sunningrocks - Rocks that absorb the sunshine and are a place of relaxation. Moons ago, it used to be an island belonging only to RiverClan, but when the river changed current, ThunderClan wanted this territory, too.

Snakerocks - Home to venomous adders. The caves beneath the rocks can also be homes to other dangerous creatures.

The Sandy Hollow - A training hollow with soft sand so apprentices don't hurt themselves.

Camp Description:

The ThunderClan Forest Camp is in a sandy ravine that used to be a riverbed a long time ago. It is surrounded by brambles, and the entrance is through a gorse tunnel. There is a tall boulder in the clearing, called the Highrock, used by the leader to call meetings. The Highrock has scuffed earth around its base. A vast, sandy clearing stretches to the Highrock, which is near a clump of nettles. A bit away from the nursery is a crowded corner of ferns, which have a tall barrier of gorse behind them. At one side, a fallen tree lies, its tangled branches folded on the ground. The fresh-kill pile usually lies at the side of the clearing. At one point, the camp was burned down in a fire, but the vegetation grew back soon.

The nursery is under a thick bramble bush. There is a huge gap in the bush that led to the clearing.

The apprentices' den is in a clump of ferns, beside a tree stump.

The warriors' den is under a bush, with a nearby nettle patch. The warriors' den is beside the nursery. It is said that the senior warriors sleep near the center, the warmest area. It is also an honor that senior warriors invite younger warriors to eat with them by the bush.

The medicine cat's den is a crack in a rock, near a small grassy clearing, a tunnel of ferns leading to it. Inside there is a grassy clearing with a small pool at one edge. One tall rock stands at the side, split with a crack to keep herbs inside.

The elders' den is under a jutting branch in the fallen tree that has grass, moss and ferns sprouting from every crevice in the tangle of wood. There is a maze of twigs that eventually lead to an empty space among tangled branches.

The leader's den is a cave in the Highrock which was carved out by an ancient stream, with lichen covering the entrance. Inside the den is a quiet cove with a smooth floor and walls, with a mossy nest at one side.

As nightfall arrived, Silvershade stared up at the sky. She sighed at the stars and continued to gaze on, her eyes acquiring a slight gleam as they connected to the sky. She sighed once more and kept her stare.

"Studying the stars?" Mushroomtail approached Silvershade and sat down nearby, she was alerted by the sighs coming from the other she-cat. Of course, she wanted to check on Silvershade to make sure nothing was troubling her. She didn't want to see a clan-mate staying up hours on end without getting a wink of sleep.

Ambershard emerged from her den, a haunted look in her eyes though that look was not that rare as of late. Just this past moon Goldenberry had died and Ambershard had been like a ghost ever since. It was obvious to everyone that she blamed herself but no matter what anyone said to her it didn't change her demeanor. On top of this, Ambershard has been in an even worse mood since the recent Medicine Cat gathering, which was her first one without Goldenberry.

Glancing up at the sky Ambershard flinched before quickly lowered her head and focusing her gaze on the ground as she started towards the fresh-kill pile. She hadn't eaten all day and though she had no desire to eat now she had to keep her strength up for the good of the clan. Especially since the clan was the only family she had left.

Silvershade still managed to keep her gaze upon the stars. She blinked after awhile of silence and snapped out of her "trance". She gave her attention to Mushroomtail and nodded. "Uh... yeah. They're beautiful.. ha. Why?" She asked softly.

Hawktalon yawned as she looked around the warrior den. The moon was nearly high in the sky as the young warrior pushed herself to her paws as she looked around. Her younger sister, Rainfur, was still fast asleep in her nest. Hawktalon shook her head as she nudged her sister with her paw. "Come on, Rainfur. Wakey, wakey," she meowed as she walked towards the entrance of the den.

Rainfur lifted her head as she looked around and saw Hawktalon standing at the entrance. "Can't I get a little bit more sleep?" she meowed grumpily as she tucked her nose under her paws. Shadowpaw snorted as he walked past the warrior's den and glanced over at his sisters. "Geez, Rainfur, you were just an apprentice a few moons ago. You're such a lazy sister," the young tom meowed as he looked over at his siblings.

Picking the smallest mouse in the fresh-kill pile Ambershard padded over to an empty corner of camp before laying down. Taking a bite she looked up at the sky again and let out a sigh when her maw was no longer full. After taking a few more bites Ambershard rose and looked around camp.

Seeing a few other cats awake she went to bury the half eaten mouse. "I might as well get some herbs now that I have some free time..." Padding into her den Ambershard pulled two borage leaves out of her storage and took note of the things that were running low before heading toward the camp entrance.

Mushroomtail watched as the other female snapped out of her trance. "Yeah, no reason really. They are quite pretty to stare at..." She glanced up at the sky, "..sighs, just heard the sighing. Something up?" The Deputy side-glanced at Silvershade and cocked her head.

The two pitch black tom's ran into the camp with their prey. The two seemed to be out of breath glancing at one another with an amused expression. They had decided to go night hunting for the first time since they would blend in so nicely. Batcry put down his prey as his electric green eyes lifted to meet his brothers burnt sun-like eyes. "We tied, you did not beat me!" He said as his brother lifted his eye brow in a silent protest before he too placed his prey at his own paws.

"I'd beg to differ. Only one cat can fit through the entrance. You and I both know I was here first. Afterall I do have longer legs." He grinned as he nudged his brother. Picking up his prey once more he padded to the fresh kill pile nodding respectfully to his deputy and clanmates.

Batcry let out a growl of irritation that his brother teased him once more about how he was short than him. "I may be shorter but I am older than you!" He huffed before picking up his prey and followed his brother to the pile giving a small respectful nod to the deputy and other cats. He wasn't as polite as his brother.

Petalstep let out a low moan as she woke inside the warriors den. 'Great Starclan; Those two! Do they really have to start bickering this early?!' she thought groggily as she lifted her nose from under her tail and glared at the den entrance as if she could see them through it. Her ears flattened in rare annoyance. 'Those two had better have a reason for barging into camp before sunrise, or I'll claw both of their ears off after I get up!' she spat in her head, meanwhile clawing the moss into a more comfortable nest and letting out a growl as she did so, hoping that they heard her.

Batcry's ears perked at the growl. He glanced over at his brother before shrugging. Like he cared that he woke someone up. It was the part of living with others. Sometimes you had to deal with getting woken up earlier then you wanted too. He slunk off towards the deputy and the other she-cat. He wanted to talk with the deputy about possibly letting him and his brother be a night hunting patrol pair because of how nicely their pelts blended in. He cleared his throat before speaking. "Mushroomtail, excuse me. May I have a word with you. It will only take a moment." He said emotionless as he gazed at the she-cat gazing at stars.

Sunflare too noticed the irritated growl coming from the warriors den. He felt a little bad for awakening a clanmate unintentionally. He got a bit too excited from a successful night of hunting. He decided he should apologize. Slinking quietly into the den, his orange eyes spotted the female prodding at her nest with her claws unsheathed. "Oh...Petalstep. I want to apologize..." The male flicked his ears back in embarrassment. "I hadn't meant to wake you. If theres anything I can do just say the word." He nodded his head to her before he padded over to his nest and curled up into a tight black ball. His orange eyes glowed in the dark before slowly closing. He let out a silent yawn before he settled down. He did however keep his ears perked in case Petalstep decided to respond to him. He also was the type of warrior always alert in case of danger.

Petalstep looked up as Sunflare poked his head through the entrance and apologized. After hearing his apology, her annoyance at him faded, and she sighed. "It's alright, Sunflare. I shouldn't be so grumpy anyway; Its almost time for me to be getting up." she said quietly, finally getting the moss arranged to her liking. She stood up and stretched, then spun around and laid back down. "So, I'm assuming you two went hunting?" she murmured while she curled up in a tight ball and shivered. 'It's starting to get really cold. We're going to have to start insulating all of the dens to keep out the cold, specifically the elders den.'

Sunflare's ears perked at the she-cats voice. He was a bit stunned that she was rather calm and even started up a conversation. He felt happy though that she wasn't as angry as he thought she'd be. "Ahh yes we did. It was rather successful. We caught a few birds and few squirrel's" Sunflare's eyes opened ever so slightly peering into the darkness at the dark ball that was Petalstep. He shivered as the cold wind swept into the warriors den. "It's getting colder it seems. We have to get these dens ready before it is too late. I guess that should be something we need to work on when we have to get up." He said as if reading the she-cats mind. He let out another yawn before nuzzling his nose in between his paws and curled his tail tightly around his lean body. "Wake me after I've had a little nap."

As Ambershard padded through the forest she sighed and glanced back in the direction she had come from. Continuing to walk Ambershard thought back to when she had left the vicinity of camp and had seen Batcry and Sunflare racing towards camp. Those two are gonna get themselves into trouble that Sunflare can't talk them out of if they dont learn to stop bickering soon... Shaking her head Ambershard focused on where she was going. Only a moon ago Goldenberry had died while getting herbs alone and since then she hadn't left camp, often sending out warriors or apprentices to collect them. Being stuck inside camp was enough to drive anycat insane but for Ambershard it also meant that she couldn't visit her brother's grave.

Ambershard's brother had died when she was still a rouge as a kit and he was buried not far from the Thunderclan border. Since she was an apprentice Ambershard had been visiting the spot when it was possible, laying in the lavender patch for as long as possible before trekking back to camp. Due to her late start she doubted she would get back before the sun set and she hoped that no one would worry about her absence. Stopping for a moment Ambershard considered going back to camp to get a warrior to tag along, knowing breaking the rule might get her in trouble, but she decided against it and kept going. Only Goldenberry had known about her brother and she doubted anyone else would understand.

Petalstep yawned. "Good. Prey is getting scarce, so its always good to have a successful hunt." She replied quietly as she curled even tighter to try and warm up some more. It was particularly cold for her, as she was a new warrior and her nest was near the entrance. She shivered again and tucked her paws underneath herself. "Yeah, starting with the entrances." came her muffled reply from under her tail along with a "Mhmm, I'll wake you up in a bit." For the next half hour, she tried to fluff her short fur out in an attempt to retain heat, but finally gave up on sleeping. She uncurled her body and stretched. "Great starclan it's cold." she whispered to herself. She cleaned her fur off and then picked her way over to Sunflare. "Hey," she whispered as she poked his shoulder, "Wake up, I wanna ask you something."

Mushroomtail's attention turned to Batcry when she heard her name. She had heard the short commotion earlier from where she sat, those brothers were out and about. She guessed they were the cause of it. The Deputy kept her wide eyes on Batcry and nodded, "Sure, sure. No problem. Could we talk here? What is it?" She inquired ready to listen to the tom.

Sunflare flicked his ears upon noise getting closer to him. His fur began to bush up as he let out a warning growl but when he heard the she-cats voice, he let out a calm breath. "Great starclan Petalstep." The tom opened his orange eyes and looked up at her blinking when he noticed just how close she was. Shaking his head he stretched out his body. "Okay, Okay, I'm up. And you need to ask me something? Oh of course go ahead and ask." The tom said lazily still half asleep. He twisted every which way cleaning his pelt, flattening the fur down.

Batcry nodded tiredly. "Me and my brother went out for the first time at night. We were wondering since we had could be a permanent team for nightly runs. I think since it's leafbare nothing will come out until it is night time. The prey know we will be looking for it during the day time. We should throw it off its course." He explained before he closed his jaws shut and awaited the deputys thoughts on the matter.

Petalstep took a step back and then sat down beside his nest while he spoke. She gave an amused chuckle. "What, were you expecting a fox or something?" She commented, noticing how he had tensed up. "Anyway, I was wondering if you could help me insulate the elders den? I know its an apprentice's job, but they're busy training and hunting, and its too cold to leave the elders den as it is, even for one more night." She explained. "I understand if your tired from last night, and I can handle it by myself; it just wouldn't take so long with two sets of paws, and I could use the company." She said, her whiskers twitching.

Sunflare flattened his ears in embarrassment feeling the heat in his face. He coughed a little clearing his throat before he shook his body out waking completely up. He grinned at Petalstep. "No you have to do it all by yourself." He chuckled with sarcastic amusement. "Of course I'll help. Lets go." He flicked his tail against the side of her flank as he brushed by her walking toward the entrance. "I'd do anything to help this clan just so you know Petalstep. Nothing is an apprentices job, it's everyone's job." He purred as he looked outside of the warriors den. He truly meant it. He stretched once more before pushing out into the windy open camp. His fur ruffled and he shivered. "Hurry up Petalstep, we don't have all day." The tom cat teased.

Petalstep rolled her eyes good naturedly and followed him out into the camp, pausing at the opening and flattening her ears as she felt the wind. 'In the summer its good to have thin fur, but in the winter... She sneezed. "Its going to be a harsh leafbare." She said out loud, padding over to stand beside Sunflare. "Thank you for helping." She replied. "And yes, actually, we do have all day." She retorted playfully and flicked his ear with her tail. "Now, do you want to go and get the moss or the branches?"

Wolfpaw yawned as he padded out of apprentice den. His heart sank when he realized he had woken up a bit late. His ears flattened to his head in shame. 'How careless of me!' He scolded himself. He sighed and willed himself to forget it and move on with his day instead of sulking about it. Wolfpaw looked around to see if any warrior could use his help with anything. Hunting or something. His paws itched to help.

"Ohh mmm..." Mushroomtail listened to Batcry's suggestion. When he finished, she looked up and pondered the idea. "Night runs? Makes sense." She stared at him with what looked like a grin, "It is a smart idea, but for now I would like to see it every other night maybe?" She tilted her head, "The time is coming when nights will get colder and more dangerous- that's what I'm concerned about. You two would make great Night Runners, with your fur and all though..."

Rangepaw was busy catching as much sleep as he could before he knew he had to be awake to start his duties as an apprentice when light pawsteps by his head woke him. He blinked open his eyes, owlishly staring at the interior of the apprentices' den before his eyes adjusted to the lighting. With a yawn he stretched, his spine letting out a resounding 'pop' here and there. As the young tom got to his paws, he registered the beginnings of a chilly morning and sighed to himself. His fur was rather short, and not at all helpful in keeping him warm in the winter months.

The orange apprentice padded out of his nest and stood outside the entrance to the den, giving himself a moment to survey the camp and those who were awake. He spotted Wolfpaw a few paw-steps away, and decided to go say hello. "Morning, Wolfpaw." He greeted tiredly with a flick of his tail as he approached the fellow apprentice. The long-haired tabby seemed to have the same bed-ragged pelt that Rangepaw himself had, so it was safe for him to assume that Wolfpaw had indeed been the owner of the pawsteps that had awoken him.

Wolfpaw turned when he heard his name and dipped his head at the other apprentice. "Good morning Rangepaw." He noticed the tired tone of his den mates voice and guilt flooded through him. "Did I.. Did I wake you?" His ears fell back to his head again. 'How careless of me..' "If I did then I'm sorry, I'll try to be more quiet next time." He looked down at his paws and held back a sigh. 'Can I do nothing right?'
