He ended with a deep breath out, before calling out to the final two apprentices " As for Briarpaw and Cloudpaw, Both of you will become my apprentices. As there is an unbalance between the warrior numbers and apprentices."

He looked at Briarpaw. Sharing his mentor with her? No way! That had to be a joke!
But at least he was clever enough to not say anything. He padded over to his new mentor before Briarpaw could and touched the leaders nose. Although he had to share Sorrelstar, it was something special to be mentored by the leader.

Oceankit was sitting a few paces away from Covekit and Oakkit. She had just come into the camp that morning. She flicked her ears patiently waiting for the ceremony to end so that she could introduce herself formally. She was too tired to do it that morning when she arrived. Her blue eyes darted around scanning the faces of her new clan mates, as they called themselves.

'Will I be able to fit in?' She thought to herself worried.

The light ginger she-cat sighed quietly as she worried about the future while she watched her leader grant apprenticeship.

Echopaw frowned, "Wow, Sorrelstar has to have two apprentice." She said, "That has probably never happened before."

Covekit frowned at Oakkit, "You're probably right," He replied mournfully, casting a forlorn glance back towards Bigrock. Sighing dramatically, the kit pouted, his gaze drifting around as he surveyed his surroundings. He wasn't paying much attention to the ceremony anymore, given the low chance of them getting their apprentice names early. It was then that he noticed another kit, sitting a few paces away from them. His ears immediately perked at the prospect of a new cat to get to know, an excited grin forming on his muzzle. "Hey," He nudged Oakkit with a paw, "Do you know who that is?" He then gestured to the orange-coated she-kit not too far form them. "She looks new, we should go welcome her!" The young tom exclaimed, obviously eager for something mpre exciting to do than sit and listen to older cats all day.

Oceankit felt eyes on her ginger white pelt and she blinked nervously. She began looking around for the culprit and spotted Covekit gazing at her speaking quietly at the she-kit beside him. Her ears flicked back as she sent a small smile over to the two. She flicked her tail in hello. She wanted to go walk over to them but she was unsure how things worked around the camp. She didn't want to come off as a disrespectful kit who didn't belong.

Seeing that all of the apprentices had newly assigned mentors, the ceremony was finished "You are all dismissed now" Jumping down he headed towards his new apprentices "Training will start at dawn"

Oakkit looked over at Oceankit. "I don't know who she is ... Yeah! lets go say hi!" she purred padding over to Oceankit. "Hi! I'm Oakkit!" she purred and fluffed out her fur. "whats your name?" she asked sitting down next to her.

Oceankit smiled brightly as the other kits seemed enthusiastic about meeting her. "Hi I am Oceankit, it is very nice to meet you Oakkit." Oceankit mewed. She purred lightly as she flicked her tiny tail. "How old are you? I am five moons old."

Oakkit smiled brightly. "So am I!" she said as she lashed her tail in excitement. she looked back over at Covekit and flicked her tail for him to come on over. then she looked Back at Oceankit. "I like your name Oceankit!" Oakkit squeaked. she felt happy to finally make some friends her age. "do you want to play?" she asked hopefully looking at Oceankit then back at Covekit.

Riverpaw started to walk away from the slowly dispersing group of cats. He wondered what it would be like to train with a new mentor. He was not used to very much change.

Echopaw turned to Riverpaw and flattened her ears shyly and looked at her paws. She wanted to start a conversation but she didn't know how to start. She opened her mouth to say something but she closed it and turned back around ad hunched her shoulders. 'Why do I have to be so shy?' She thought.

Riverpaw glanced over at Echopaw just in time to see her hesitate to say something. He padded over to her and smiled, "Hi! Maybe we'll train together sometimes."

Echopaw smiled shyly, "Maybe, that would be fun..." She said , she looked at Riverpaw and smiled, "I bet I could beat you at fighting." She teased.

Oceankit's purr became louder at the compliment. She nodded insisting she would absolutely love to play. She gazed over toward Covekit wondering if he must be in his own world. With an amused chuckle the tiny ginger kitten leaned down on her front paws, her throat rumbled as she playfully growled at her new friend. Her claws sheathed, muscles bunched. She threw herself gently at Oakkit knocking her over. "Pinned you!" She giggled as she put her paws gently one the other kits shoulders. Then she had an idea. "We should surprise attack Riverpaw and Echopaw!"

Oakkiy laughed as Oceankit pined her down. then looked over at Riverpaw and Echopaw. "Yeah! lets go!" she playfully pushed Oceankit off and got to her paws and shook herself off. "so whats the plan of attack?" she asked flicking her tail towards Riverpaw and Echopaw.

"I can't wait till dawn!", he grumbled. He didn't know what do, for the second time today. His gaze wandered around in camp and stopped at the sight of an unknown cat. It was a kit, along with another, Oakkit , he thought. He padded over to the kits, trying hardly to hide his curiosity behind a mask of ignorance. "Who's that?", he asked Oakkit.

As she was pushed off the little she-kit rolled up onto her tiny paws and glanced over at the two apprentices. Oceankit flicked her ears closing her eyes tight as if imagining the plan of attack in her mind. For a few moments she stood like that, then her eyelids shot open revealing her beautiful eyes. She giggled with a purr as she gazed over at Oakkit. "Okay so the plan is one of us has to go distract them. That would be Covekit's job. Like ask them a question." She flicked her tail looking back at Oakkit. "Me and you will slink behind them without making a noise!" She emphasized the last part. "When we are in position, we launch ourselves on their backs and yell" She leaned in closer and whispered "The enemies have been caught, at the same time." She giggled and sat down feeling excited. Her tiny body shook with the excitement she was feeling.

She then gazed over at the apprentice who had just approached her. She tilted her head cutely before jumping up. "I'm Oceankit." She said with a small smile unsure if he was just as friendly as the other two kits. "I'm new here" She looked at Oakkit and was wondering if she should tell the apprentice the plan and have him join.

Oakkit smiled and her eyes shined as Oceankit told her the plan. she nodded her head. "that's a great plan!" she squeaked. she looked up at Cloudpaw and smiled. "HI Cloudapaw! and like she just said her name is Oceankit!" she said flicking her tail towards Oceankit.

Covekit had been busy watching the other cats in the ceremony, momentarily distracted from the prospect of making a new friend. Hearing his name be mentioned by the new kit, he blinked, jerking his head in Oakkit's direction. Mouse-dung, he'd missed their introduction! Weaving his way over to the she-kit's, he just managed to catch Oakkit's greeting to Cloudpaw, which also gave him the chance to learn Oceankit's name. "Sorry guys, I got distracted!" The kit said with a hint of humility, his grin large and friendly. He then turned to Oceankit, "I heard you say my name, what did I miss?" He questioned, raising a brow quizzically.

Oceankit smiled at Covekit before she lightly cuffed his ear playfully. "You are going to create a distraction so me and Oakkit can play attack Echopaw and Riverpaw!" She giggled lowly before remembering that Cloudpaw was right beside them. 'Rats!' The she-kit cursed herself in her own mind before flattening her ears and glancing at Cloudpaw. "Uhmm...don't tell them!" She squeaked quietly with a pleading expression on her face. The kits job was to create mischief so hopefully he understood that they just wanted to have fun. The kits always have to stay in the Queens den and never get to do anything fun or interesting. So the kits make the day staying in camp fun. "At least we are sneaking out of camp and getting into bigger trouble." She shrugged with a grin.

"Don't worry, Oceankit. I have better things to do.", he meowed disdainfully. But he couldn't help but smile a little. The kits where cute somehow . All they did was play, the whole day. No sorrows, no problems. He couldn't say he missed that time, though. Being an apprentice was much better. It brought not only new things to learn and adventures, but responsiblity too. He remembered when he was kit and how much he wanted to become an apprentice.

Oceankit purred happily and she nodded to the apprentice. Her fur tingled in excitement. "Thanks!" She said before she flicked her tail back and forth in deep thought before speaking. "If we properly do this then maybe we can become apprentices early!" She meowed at her two new kit friends. She then looked at Cloudpaw and walked up to him standing in front of him. She lifted her tiny head, her blue eyes looking into his eyes. "You should teach us some stuff later on Cloudpaw! Please?" Her eyes got bigger as she pouted hoping he could help them with the boredom later on. They can't just surprise attacking people all day.
