Icestar padded out of his den with a yawn. The camp was just starting to rustle with life as cats awakened to start a new day. He saw his daughter pad out of the warriors den and sit down to groom her fur. He nodded to her in hello, and Dewflower flicked her tail in reply.

Gingerpaw walked outside of the den and stretched. He nodded a hello to Icestar, and sat down near a pile of leaves. He curled his tail around his paws as he watched the other cats in ThunderClan awaken from their sleep and come out of their dens. 'I hope today will be a good day, but I just know it will.' He thought as he began to smile.

Nightwhisper had woken up early that morning and had gone hunting, now she was padding back into camp with her catch, two mice and a squirrel. She nodded to Icestar, Dewflower, and Gingerpaw as she set her catch on the fresh kill pile.

Cloverstream sat by herself, grooming her fur.

It was an incrediously beautiful morning. Better than any morning this season. Although every day was a living nightmare for a cat from ThunderClan, whom was now sitting all alone by the entrance of the warrior den.

He sat there, without motion, without expression, without anything to reveal that he was alive. Seemingly frozen to the ground, the only thing that singled him out from a statue was the fact that his piercing blue eyes, brighter than the sky and colder than ice kept swirling across the camp, his eyes landing on one cat after another. His right ear happened to be slightly torn after a fight he'd gotten into on the previous Gathering, which had lead to him being banned from coming to the Gathering this moon. Although it had been worth it. Everything had been worth it. As long as he got to tear his opponent apart and feel blood rushing over his claws, it was to be taken as a victory.

Black as night, and with a heart as equally dark. Frightening in battle, despite his rather scrawny outside. It seemed like he broke loose from a trance, and he got to his paws, finally making a move. He'd been told specifically that he was to come every day to the medicine den and get his wounded ear checked, just to make sure it wasn't infected.

He wouldn't defy the medicine cats. He'd learned their value, even though he knew his path was to be a leader. He eyed Icestar with a chilly hostility, before moving over towards Gingerpaw. "Hey, Gingerpaw. Do you have time on your paws to check my ear?" he asked, although didn't sound as cheerful and enthusiastic as he could have been.

Ginerpaw turned his head to Nightleap. "Sure thing." He said, getting up and padding into the medicine cat's den. He sat down and waited for Nightleap to enter.

Nodding lightly, the cat followed the slightly younger tom towards the den filled with herbs, and where the odor of strong, bitter herbs thinged the air. In an attempt to to shut the horrible scents out, he opened his mouth slightly and breathed mainly through his mouth. It could look silly, although he didn't really bother to think about that. All he wanted was to get his ear checked, and to know that it wouldn't keep him from entering war with any other clans in the future.

Meanwhile, a beautifully dappled she-cat had entered the clearing with a bundle of herbs in her mouth, looking rather dazzling in the sunlight. She was tall, sure, although that didn't affect her beauty. She immediatly walked to the ThunderClan medicine cat den, dropping a pile of comfrey next to the coltsfoot and the cobwebs, and piled them neatly together with her paw. "Make sure you clean the ear properly before applying new herbs, Gingerpaw," she noted, smiling charmingly before continuing her way through the herbs, trusting her apprentice to do the right thing with the patient.

Gingerpaw nodded to his mentor, then turned back to the patient. He cleaned the ear and then took a look at it.

Suddenly stiffening and letting a shiver that rattled through her body, Fernleaf automatically dropped the herbs she had been stacking a moment ago, letting them fall to the ground lightly. It looked like a spasm, and she was shivering so badly she had a hard time standing. A moment later everything turned back normal and she heaved a sigh of relief. "Watch out for the raining frogs, Gingerpaw. I've been awaiting them for at least a week now," she murmured and exited the medicine den through the entrance and padded into the morning light, looking oddly unfocused, but at the same time not as remote as she usually was.

Nightleap frowned and looked at the she-cat stacking the leaves, and shrugged lightly. This was what spooked him the most about their medicine cat. The elders said it was an illness, uncurable. Leaving the thought behind, he noticed that he was about the same height as Gingerpaw. The thought disgusted him. His height had always been his major flaw, and was the one thing that annoyed him. For that reason, everyone underestimated him. Although he'd show them... He'd show everyone his height didn't speak for the speed of his claws.

Sunpaw stretched and padded out of the apprentice den to find his sisters already huddled together over a half eaten thrush. He guessed the other half was for him and his still sleeping brother, Duskpaw. Sunpaw waved his tail in greeting. "Hi Sunpaw, is Duskpaw up too?" Icepaw asked intently, Snowpaw as usual was quiet. She was a very shy and quiet cat, even with her littermates. "No, he wasn't up yet, I'm sure he will be soon"

Cloverstream sat in the camp, staring into the distance, deep in thought. A slight breeze ruffled her cream fur, her long tail waving behind her. Her pale, ice-blue eyes shimmered, then she blinked and turned her gaze down to her dainty paws.

((Sure! I'll have Nightleap complete his examination and send him over to Cloverstream.))

Nightleap glanced at the medicine cat apprentice and flicked his tail with impatience. "Are you done soon? I've got other things to do, than stand around and get my ear looked at. Besides, it's completely fine," he said, and put extra strenght in the word 'fine' to make sure Gingerpaw heard it. He wanted to go out and prove to the clan what amazing warrior he was, and that no one was to think foul about his strenght.

Fernleaf sighed heavily, and decided she'd go to the ShadowClan border. Perhaps she'd find some catmint there? She had to restore her piles completely, although she lacked catmint. For some sort of reason, they were hard to come by. Treading lightly on the ground, which now flourished with the beginnings of new life, she headed towards the border between the two clans. Thunderpath seperated them, but unlike others, Fernleaf didn't think badly of the path itself. It was easy enough to cross, if the cats crossing it weren't so mouse-brained. Sighing she walked through the forest, until the shiny black surface appeared.

Silentwind was on his way towards to restock on some marigolds, his ears twitched a bit as a bug decided to land on it. He walked across shadowclan's territory to nearby the thunderpath, he looked across the other side to look at thunderclan's territory when he saw Fernleaf across from him. A small smile tugged its way on his muzzle and he padded a bit towards the thunderpath.

Gingerpaw nodded. "Just come back if it bothers you." He said to Nightleap.

Cloverstream kneeded the round underneath her paws with her long, sharp claws. ( Writer's block, writer's block, writer's, writer's block! -to the tune of Jingle Bells- )

Looking up from where she was nosing around, she spotted a friendly figure on the other side of the Thunderpath and shrugged slightly, although pulled off a smile. She wasn't supposed to seem overly friendly around foreign cats, but didn't care. For once. She liked Silentwind, perhaps a bit more than she ought to. Waving her tail as a greeting, she padded up to the very edge of the Thunderpath, and looked across. "Hello, Silentwind," she called, her tail wavering softly.

Nightleap nodded strictly over to GIngerpaw and whipped around, before disappearing through the entrance and back into the sunlight. He was momentarily blinded, although quickly managed to adjust, as his pupils contracted. Shrugging he padded over to the Warriors den and sat down in the shadow, hoping to not be seen by anybody.

Dapplepaw blinked slowly as the early morning began to filter through the ferns. With a small groan she pulled herself out of the warmth of her nest into the slightly chilly spring air. Padding out into the clearing in camp, Dapplepaw noticed she was one of the last up.
Great just the way i want to start my morning. Ugh I HATE mornings.

With a small bounce in her step Dapplepaw padded over to the freshkill pile and chose a small mouse. Laying down in the warm sunlight, Dapplepaw`s soft coat glimmered slightly as she took a tentative bit of the still warm mouse. In a couple of bites the mouse was gone, and the small apprentice stretched, deciding to go look for her mentor.

Coonkit`s pale eyes flashed open the minute he realized the sun was up. He looked around the nursery, seeing the queens and most of the kits were asleep, a wild smirk appeared on the kit`s face. He padded quietly out of the nursery, hoping he wouldn't be caught.

The bright morning light blinded him for a moment, but as soon as he was away from the nursery a purr of satisfaction took over the kit. He pranced into the middle of camp, seeing the entrance to camp,, the kit got another idea. With a couple stealthy hops the kit made his way to the entrance, his eyes bright with freedom so close.

Cloverstream stood up, bored. Scanning the camp, she spotted Nightleap. She couldn't see the outline of his pelt, but she could see his gleaming eyes. She guessed that because he was sitting in the shadows that he wanted to be alone, but she didn't care. Smiling, she padded over to the tom. "Hello." She purred.

Silentwind waved his tail in greeting "Hi fernleaf" he greeted back shyly. Even though he thought of her as a friend he is still a bit shy and bad with talking with others. He trotted over to the tunnel that was underneath the thunderpath. He didnt care about if Fernleaf saw what he was doing, just as long as he could go across safely.

Bushheart padded out of the warriors den and stretched. "Time to start the hunt." Bushheart meowed softly, then shot out of the camp. He ran about 30 taillenghs from the camp, then slowed down, and began walking toward the sunningrocks.

When Duskpaw finally aroused from his sleep he saw his siblings gathered around what was left of the mostly eaten piece of fresh kill. Icepaw's eyes looked a bit cold, and Sunpaw's tail swished back and forth on the ground irritably. The ony pne who dodn't seem to care that Duskpaw had slept so late was Snowpaw, but then again, she always had been the more patient of the four. He recalled their mother stating what she thought each of them would be. Their mother thought that Snowpaw would end up a patient, loving queen. Icepaw would end up a short tempered, sarcastic warrior who did well fighting. Sunpaw would be a hot headed, but deadly hunter, and he, Duskpaw, would be a laid back mentor to someone, usually just doing what the clan needed. After thinking back on everything Duskpaw couldn't help but agree.

Bushheart spotted a mouse near a small bush. He stealth-fully stalked the mouse, pushing all his others thoughts out of his head, which of one of his particular strengths. Closer and closer he got, until he finally pounced, catching the mouse. Smiling, he buried the mouse in the ground, and muttered, "Well, that's one down, and I need at least a quota of three pieces of prey." Bushheart would often set quotas for himself when he wasn't due for patrol, and occasionally returned to camp late when matching the quota proved difficult or slow.

Lightheart glanced around the camp, her fur on edge. Her dreams and nightmares haunted her during the day as she knew every time she woke up, she was getting older. Turning to her molted fur that made her cringe as she noticed the snarled and kinky fur that never seemed to lay flat and straight no matter how hard she tried. Sighing, she could distinguish some white hairs poking through the mud colored fur she bore on her pelt. Looking to the ground, she was ashamed with her poor conditions and decided that she must remain skinny to look desirable because her pelt surely wouldn't attract any toms.
Cocking her ears to the camp while her gaze is down, she could her slight cliches in everyone's conversation, nothing juicy or important. Sighing as she wished she was much younger so she could hear everyone's conversations even more acutely. Lifting her gaze, her still sharp amber eyes seemed to slice through the camp like the sharpest claw. Seeing no one that would be interested in talking to her old self, she decided to head out of camp.
Picking herself up, shaking dirt and brush from her fur, she began to walk out of the camp, her footsteps light and graceful. Holding her tail and chin up high, she strutted out of camp, pretending to be her daring, beautiful young self.

Hearing Silentwind voice made Fernleaf smile, and her whiskers twitched lightly with amusement at the look of concern and shyness on the medicine cat's face. Nothing was to be feared, of course. They were both medicine cats, and were allowed to travel freely over the borders. As he vanished from sight, she stiffened and frowned. Where would he go? Then she detected his smell from... Underneath the Thunderpath? How come? Completely lost in thought, she padded towards the place where his scent was coming from, until she found herself walking right into him. "Oh, sorry! Didn't see you coming," she murmured, although was mostly interested in the black tunnel underneath the dark, hard path.

On the other hand, Nightleap wasn't as pleased to hear a voice. None other than Cloverstream. He almost facepawed with frustration. Why wouldn't these cats leave him alone? He almost growled to express his dismay, although ended up swallowing it. "Hi," he said sharply, and without no direction nor feelings behind it. Looking up he spotted a she-cat, older than most of the cats in this clan. He flicked his tail slightly with amusement at the way she tried to puff out her chest, and move gracefully as the enchantress she'd surely been, many moons or seasons ago. Instead of pointing it out to Cloverstream, he just sat there. All motionless and with a glinting gaze that suggested he had no plans whatsoever to reply to anything Cloverstream said to him.
