Fernleaf's whiskers twitched merrily as Silentwind replied. "Nobody knows," she murmured and looked up at the sky. "Just as we don't know when the stars will fall in our heads," she murmured with an absent look in her eyes. Snapping out of it, the tortoiseshell stared at Silentwind with a very sharp and penetrating look on her face. "Clans don't bond too well together," she said hastily, and now wore a look of distress. As if, right then, she'd been told something by the skies. "ThunderClan needs me. I will have to leave now," she said and turned hastily to leave. Then she stopped right in her tracks. "See you on the medicine cat meeting," she whispered, then hustled away into the bushes, her heart racing. She had a feeling that one of her clanmates would need her, very soon.

he nodded and went back towards the tunnel underneath the thunderpath and headed back into shadowclans territory, he could say that he was out looking for more herbs to stock up on. Sighing as he padded deeper into shadowclan territory. Ill have to think about what to say later.... he thought to himself.

Lightheart's eyes widened in fear and she clamped the kit's scruff tighter in her jaws. Sinking low, her movements jerky and delayed, she prepared to leap climb the tree even though she hasn't in quite a while. The dog was just about to snatch up Lightheart and Oleander and toss them around like a ragdoll. As if StarClan had sent a miracle from their stars, a flash of black landed on the dog and the dog spun around to fight the black miracle.
Lightheart was petrified to the location in fear but Oleander struggled, writhing in terror and confusion. That seemed to wake her up and she turned on her tail and began to pelt away from the dog, Oleander dangling in her jaws. Turning around to help the cat who helped her was clearly out of the question as she turned her head to notice the dog wasn't following.
Pelting into camp, Oleander in her jaws, she dropped her in the center of camp. Laboring in her breath, Lightheart managed to rasp to the camp, "There is-is a dog in the forest!" Breathing deeply, she turned to see Oleander, the whites of her eye almost engulfing all the color in her iris.

The clearing had now become a battle-field, two opponents circling each other and waiting for the other to make the first move. However, they both seemed wise enough to know it wasn't a good idea to move out of the way. A flash of fur behind the monterous hound caught Nightleap's attention for a mere minute, which was enough for the dog to leap forwards with a rather awkward yip and grab Nightleap's scruff. Nightleap shuddered lightly as the teeth pierced the skin, and the dog began throwing him around like a ragdoll, sending blood flying in every direction.

Getting increasingly dizzy, Nightleap made an attempt to get free by twisting around in the dog's grip. It caused him great pain though, and he ended up gasping as a fish out of water. Gritting his teeth he twisted once again and raked his sharp claws over the dog's throat. It whined and dropped him from it's grip, leaving the young cat to stumble sideways. His world spun around in every direction, and he felt completely lost. However, since the dog was fuzzing over the scratch it had gotten on it's throat, Nightleap found it as a one in a million chance to actually take down the hound. Spreading his legs to regain balance, he took aim and sprang forth, sinking his pearly white teeth into the throat of the dog, which let out a yelp.

However, killing a dog wasn't a task set for a cat alone, which was proven even to Nightleap. The dog threw him off like a fly, and hauled itself through the bushes, howling it's pain to the sky while leaving a black, bloodied body on the ground, his whole body trembling lightly from the mere exhaustion.

Bushheart padded up. "A dog...?" he asked, shocked out of his wits.

Cloverstream leaped to her paws, staring at Lightheart, her eyes fierce. "Dog?" She growled. "We have to drive it off!" The white and ginger she-cat glanced around at the other cats before racing off into the forest to find the dog. As she ran, the she-cat lifted her head as she felt the cool breeze brushing past her in pleasure. It seemed like a relatively nice day, not a day for a battle with a dog. But attacks came when you least expected them, you just needed to be prepared. If you weren't prepared for a fight at all times then you weren't a true warrior, in Cloverstream's eyes. Her fur was fluffed up on her shoulders and spine, giving her a feral and dangerous look. She skidded to a halt next to Nightleap, facing the dog with bared teeth. "Come on, furball, let's fight this dog." She hissed in the black tom's ear before rearing up to claw at the dog with thorn-sharp front claws. Her lips were drawn back in a smile as she clawed at the dog, but it was too strong for her. The dog leaped at Cloverstream, digging its strong teeth into her shoulder and shaking her like a kit playing with a leaf. Trying to fight back, the she-cat dug her claws into its muzzle, scratching its nose. She felt the dog let go, and she spun around to face it as it dove for her again. Her vision was fuzzy from blood-loss, but she was determined to defeat this beast, al she blindly clawed and bit, feeling fur being torn from her pelt and blood oozing all over her. Eventually, the white she-cat fell back, unable to even stand on her weak legs. As the dog lurched towards her, she turned her head to Nightleap, her pale blue eyes glistening. "Help..." She murmured softly before turning to stare the dog in its eye as it came towards her.

Bushheart looked at the direction the dog ran and yelled, "Run, dogpelt, run! Run for the hills, and don't come back!"

Hearing several clanmates arriving at the clearing, Nightleap huffed lightly and pulled himself up onto his feet. He sighed heavily and looked at his hind leg, which happened to have been damaged in the fall. He gave the leg a quick lick before he glanced over the cats that had arrived. "Shut up, Bushheart! Do you want it to come back?" he hissed angrily and whipped his tail angrily. "This is not the time for yowling your heart out," he snapped and narrowed his eyes furiously. "Just get back to camp and make a report to Icestar," he growled and walked back towards camp, limping slightly at the side where he'd been hit particularly hard

"Sure thing Nightleap," Bushheart meowed, then rushed back to camp. It took him a little while longer, as he accidentally tripped on a tree root, but he managed to limp into camp. He limp up close to the leaders den and meowed, "Icestar?"

Reentering camp, Nightleap narrowed his eyes and looked at the collection of cats they had. Miserable, in his opinion. Not strong enough to fight like real warriors, and too frightened to do anything but cover beneath their pitiful clanmates whenever a threat was near. He glanced with a piercing hostility at Lightheart, who'd made a run for it instead of helping him out. Not that he minded the challenge of fighting a dog by himself, although he had hoped the cats had some more dignity than that. Shrugging he glanced over to the fresh-kill pile and realised how pitifully small it was. "Hey! Will someone get their furry butts out on a hunting patrol?" he growled angrily, baring his pearly white teeth.

Gingerpaw sat outside the med den and yawned.

"can we go!" Sunpaw and Icepaw exclaimed excitedly, practically dragging Duskpaw, the lazy furball with them. Snowpaw followed behind more cautiously, as she always did, but the young, fluffy white she cat was excited, she absolutely loved hunting!

Glaring with a deep hostility at the bright and eager apprentices, Nightleap merely shrugged. "Do as you like," he snapped angrily. "Make sure you bring back some prey though," he said and eyed both of them with growing anger, before Falconswoop turned up, walking over to the two apprentices and the grumpy young warrior. He himself was rather grumpy too, although he seemed to have more patience with apprentices than most others. "Go on then, furballs. I'll catch up with you," he said and twitched his whiskers with light amusement.

"Okay!" Icepaw cheered sprinting out the camp entrance. Sunlaw let out a play hiss and sprinted after her, his competitive side coming through again, as usual. Snowpaw scurried off after them, she was silent as a mouse, butas excited as a kit to get out of camp and help the clan. Hunting was definitely her strong point. Duskpaw sighed irritably and padded slowly out of camp, he really didn't care much what his siblings were doing, he would much prefer to fight... If he had to do something.

Bushheart sighed. He then nodded to himself and sat near the den.

Glancing after the bickering apprentices, Falconswoop heaved a sigh and followed. At a slower pace, of course. He padded rather calmly, although wished with his entire heart that he could regain the energy of an apprentice. Eventually he began trotting lightly after them. However, it bothered him how much ruscus they were making. "Hey! Don't scare off the prey! Remember, a mouse can hear you before it smells you," he yowled after them, shaking his head lightly with discontent.

Hissing lightly, Nightleap made his way over to the warriors den and flopped down onto his side, before he gradually began grooming his shoulder fur, straightening it out and cleaning off the final traces of blood. Little by little, his coat was as glossy as it had been earlier, shining smoothly in the bright sun. His black colour easily attracted the light, making him glower inside with warmth. Closing his eyes, he finally looked somewhat content.

"Hm... must be out hunting." Bushheart muttered to himself, then ran out of camp.

Falcontail stretched as the sunlight his pelt while exiting the warriors den. He yawned and flicked his tail, looking around. His pelt fluffed up as he got a sudden chill but shook it off. He padded over the fresh kill pile and looked at the few cats.

"Sorry!" Snowpaw piped quickly before pounding along, smelling the air occasionally. Sunpaw followed after her. Duskpaw dragged his paws one after the other, moving rather slowly, and still making a considerable amount of noise. He really didn't care much. Snowpaw let out a soft, inaudible sigh and trotted silently off on her own, no one would notice that she had gone off alone, and she would hunt better with the quiet.

Without really expecting any danger, Nightleap sat upright and studied the she-cat as she walked over to the fresh-kill pile with a bundle of prey. Then, she seemingly started to talk with them. His ears flicked back and he frowned. The cats of this clan are as dumb as squirrels, he decided privately and let his gaze wander on. Only a moment too late he realised that the she-cat had come over, calling his name in high-pitched squeals. Without being preprared, he was easily knocked to the ground, and he bared his teeth in a hiss. "Get off me, you big lump of fur!" he hissed, and lashed his tail angrily.

When he finally managed to stagger back on his paws, it was to find the she-cat bouncing around with a happy expression on her face. Immediatly he decided he'd teach her a lesson, and pelted forwards. As any good warrior, he kept his claws sheated, knowing that if he hurt her the clan would start an uproar. Quick as lightning he used his speed and force to knock her off her paws, before assuming a defensive position a little further away from her. His tail flicked lightly and his neck fur bristled. "I won't play with you before you defeat me in a battle," he challenged. If he couldn't win against a mental she-cat, how could he possibly survive in a real battle? Without waiting for another reply he swooped forth, raising a paw and swooping it towards her. Every instinct told him to unsheat his claws and murder his opponent as quickly as possible, although the logic sense he carried told him it'd be a bad idea.

((Interesting cat you've got, Lostwhisper! I sense a possible plot out of this. c: ))

Falconswoop sighed and shook his head. Apprentices will be apprentices, he told himself quietly, although could swear he hadn't been as noisy as these apprentices were back when he went through his training. "Duskpaw, get a grip already! Pull your paws up or you'll continue to scare all the prey along the path. And then," he said and paused, a smirk trailing along on his lips, "you won't be able to be a warrior," he finished. As cruel as it sounded, he was certain that without making an effort in hunting patrols as well as border patrols, the tom would never make it to his warrior name. "If you fail your hunting assessment, you'll have to watch your siblings be made warriors before you. Is that of your wish?" he challenged with a determined, cool voice.
