Blazingsilence padded over to the Highrock and sat down toward the back. The quiet tom looked up at his leader, and waited  for her to announce the deputy. I'm glad it won't be me. All that responsibility, He thought, and shuddered visibly. Besides, it can't be me, I haven't even had an apprentice. He added.

Amberkit turned her head. "Guess she forgot to give me my apprentice ceremony." Amberkit mewed very loud. She licked her fur down and kept watching from the nursery.

Cheetahheart heard the announcement. "The deputy shall be named today!" Cheetahheart padded out of the warrior cat den and went to the clan meeting.

"She'll remember." Bushkit meowed simply, before turning his attention back to the Highrock.

Blazingsilence gave Amberkit a quick look before turning refocusing on the meeting at hand. Well, we'll see. He thought to himself. He'd have given Bushkit a nod except that he didn't want to attract more attention to the group.

Batcry sighed softly as he gaze over at Rangepaw. "Tigerfur lets go back to camp. We have to report them missing." He then made his way toward camp. "I really wish I knew where they went, this is very unnerving..." 


(ooc; I wanna get back to camp and be there when the new deputy is named. ^^)

Amberkit looked at Blazingsilence, then to Bushkit, then to Mushroomtail that is on top of the Highrock.

In the midst of the crowd sat a rather large cat, one that stood out quite spectacularly from the rest. He was taller than most, had curiously large ears and seemed... Well, not normal. His ears tweaked slightly from side to side as the tom listened to Mushroomtail with a rather curious look. It was difficult to understand everything she said... Yet he understood something to do with a deputy. He also knew what 'appoint' meant and thus the rest of the words weren't necessary. 

He sighed and glanced at the kits, whom were obviously large enough to become apprentices by now. Perhaps their leader should focus on their ceremonies rather than appointing a second leader? Because that was what 'deputy' meant in his ears. A second leader, an executive leader sort of speaking... The top leader just sat around making the few large decision that came across the way, butted in during discussions and otherwise made sure every cat knew they were the head of the clan. Meanwhile the deputy did basically everything else, running errands for the leader, ordering and checking all that existed in the clan and making sure it run smoothly. To be all honest, Stormflight believed that the deputy easily surpassed the leader in terms of running the clan.

However, he hadn't seen Mushroomtail occupy this role before. She seemed like an alright she-cat, he hoped that whomever was chosen as deputy wouldn't have to work until his or her tail fell off before they got a chance to rest.

Cheetahheart walked over and mewed, "Hey Bushkit and Amberkit. My, you both look like apprentices." She pawed back over to the Highrock's base and waved her tail to the other cats congregating at the Highrock's base.

Bushkit dipped his head respectfully in response. Even though the kit was not necessarily the most properly behaved kit at times, he wanted to be on his best behavior today, apprentice ceremony or not. But I bet that it is getting really close, He thought, pushing down an excited bounce that he felt in his mind, both to avoid looking like an excited kit and to avoid further injury to his paw.

Tigerfur nodded to Batcry, frowning slightly. Where had the apprentices gone to? He felt wrong to simply leave, but he knew that Batcry was right. It would be better to let Mushroomtail know and have a search party sent out. He just hoped that they were alright. Tigerfur followed after Batcry, tossing his head from side to side in search of the missing apprentices.

Batcry headed into camp and looked around. He noticed the leader was starting a clan meeting. "We will let her know after we know what Mushroomtail is going to say." He flicked his tail impatiently and felt worried about the young cats. He padded over to Stormflight nodding to him with a friendly glance. "Why is there a clanmeeting?" He asked trying to get the different tom cat to understand his words.

Spiritkit sat where she was, continuing to try and flatten her extremely fluffy fur. She even considered rolling in the dirt at one point but decided against it thinking it would just but fluffy and dirty afterwards. She gave up once again and turned her attention to the gathering of cats.

"Uh, okay. I say these words before StarClan, so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice." She paused and stood up, looking down at the crowd of cats, "The new deputy of Thunderclan is... Stormflight." She grinned down at the cats below, "Secondly, before I forget, Amberkit step forward for an apprentice ceremony in a bit."

A cat approached Stormflight. Before he would flinch and pull away if someone approached him like that, but he had learned throughout the years. Now he sat quite calmly and even managed to return the small nod, an odd gesture that was far from natural to him. Even so, he was determined to stand firmly as friendly and kind. "Deputie," he said curtly, not really able to explain it any further. His voice was strangely high-pitched, almost like a squeak and his pronunciation of the word came out rather peculiar as well.

It was a grand surprise for the tom to hear his name called. He could not understand the earlier sentences, the proclamation to StarClan to accept her choice. It was just a bunch of sounds to him. The next sentence was clear though. Deputy, followed by his name. Was that so? She'd just made him deputy? He couldn't help but look rather dumbfounded as he stared at the she-cat, then a smile broadened on his face and he dipped his head. "Zank you. I do me best," he managed to say, the 'th' sound naturally becoming a 'z' when he spoke. He then proceeded to look around for the kits. If there was one thing he'd worked hard to learn, it was the name of his clanmates. He knew the kits were ready for the second phase of growing up, and he smiled gently to them.

Blazingsilence almost let out a sigh of relief when he wasn't named deputy. He didn't want that kind of responsibility which came with the job. Although truth be told he wouldn't mind becoming a mentor. 

Bushkit smiled at Amberkit gently but otherwise remained silent. He was glad for his friend, and hoped that she'd get a good mentor.

Batcry gazed at Stormflight, slightly envious because well Batcry had always wanted to become a deputy and led his own clan. But the ebony tom just simply smiled instead of saying anything. He flicked his tail over to the toms shoulder for a quick second before meowing, "Congrats, Stormflight." He then proceeded the looked around the camp for Amberkit. His ears perked but his still had to tell Mushroomtail about the two missing Apprentices. "After the apprentice ceremony Mushroomtail," He called out. "I have some news I'd like to discuss with you or shall I do that with Stormflight?" He asked before she did the ceremony.

Stormflight smiled at the tom next to him and gave another curt nod. "Zank you," he murmured, slightly touched by the fact that his clanmates recognized him in his new position. Hopefully I can help them as much as I'd like to... he thought and shrugged lightly. He didn't catch much of what Batcry said afterwards to the leader, but understood that there was something that needed to be discussed between him, the leader and potentionally Batcry himself. He tilted his head slightly, curious what this might be.

Mushroomtail heard her name being called out and glanced through the crowd until she saw Batcry. The Leader leaned forward in reply, "...uhm, you can talk with both of us if that's fine." She wondered what was so important that he needed.

"Of course!" He said with a nod before relaxing to a point. His eyes scanned the crowd, Sunflare must still be out with his apprentice. 

Blazingsilence had to admit, it was curious as to why Batcry would need to speak with the leader and deputy after the meeting, but he kept quiet as to avoid causing any additional interruptions. Though, I image it must be important. 

Bushkit was to focused on trying to hear who Amberkit's mentor was going to be and by the time he realized Batcry had spoken, he's completely missed out on what the warrior had said.

Amberkit stepped forward, her heart beating with excitement. She walked to the Highrock and her eye's were glazed in bewilderment.

Mushroomtail looked down to see the kit approaching the Highrock, she closed her eyes for a moment. "Amberkit. You have reached the age, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Amberpaw...." She was trying to think of a mentor for the new apprentice quickly.

Blazingsilence watched the ceremony in silence, enjoying this meeting. He also noted that his leader seemed to be getting a bit more confident with the ceremony as the meetings went on. What he didn't know is that he made an unconscious gesture with his tail. 

Bushpaw however, was hoping that Amberkit would get a high racking mentor, perhaps a leader or deputy, at least a senor warrior. He felt that his friend deserved nothing but the best when it came to who her mentor was.

Rangepaw, true to his recent stubbornness, stayed behind a few paces after Tigerfur and Batcry agreed that they should declare the apprentices missing and headed back towards camp. Huffing in surrender, the apprentice followed the two warriors with reluctance tugging at each step. 'Why did they have to run off!? Why couldn't they have stayed close, like they were told? Mouse-brained, the both of them!' He thought ruefully, simply concerned and frustrated at Mudpaw and Dustpaw's disappearance.

Once the group arrived at camp, Rangepaw was startled to see that a meeting was taking place. He watched as Batcry and Stormflight spoke with each other. He glanced around for another apprentice to sit by, and was worried to not find Wolfpaw among the gathered cats.

Pinefoot was sitting towards the edge of the gathered cats, simply listening in proudly at Mushroomtail's first clan meeting. He thought it was odd that she hadn't traveled to the Moonstone to receive her nine lives yet, but given the circumstances between Thunderclan and Riverclan at the moment, he surely couldn't blame her.

Tigerfur nodded in approval of the depity choice. Stormflight would make a fantastic deputy! Tigerfur nodded towards him in congratulations, then focused his attention back on Mushroomtail, beaming at the she-cat with a tinge of pride. She was doing great! His gaze shifted to Amberpaw. He remembered what it was like to become an apprentice, so nerve-wracking and exciting all at once.

Amberpaw pushed her tail down with her hind paw, not to anger Starclan with her enthusiasm to become an apprentice. Her fur shone in the golden-red sunlight, releasing a warm glow onto the rock she was standing on. Amberpaw was eager to know who her mentor was, so she perked up her ears to hear what Mushroomtail ahd to sasy about her choice for Amberpaw's mentor.
