ShadowClan Territory

Territory Landmarks:

Camp - A dark, well-concealed hollow hidden deep in shadows. It is surrounded by prickly and fierce brambles.

Carrionplace - An evil place where rats and diseases lurk.

Thunderpath tunnel - ShadowClan cats move freely across the most feared part of the Thunderpath. This has enhanced their reputation for mysterious strength and invincibility.

Burnt Sycamore - An ancient tree struck by lightning moons ago. Apprentices are trained here to hunt at night and stalk through undergrowth.

Camp Description:

The ShadowClan Forest Camp is in a hollow with muddy ground surrounded by brambles. The entrance is through a thorn tunnel. A smooth boulder at the edge of the clearing is used by the leader to call meetings.

The nursery is in a hollow, shielded by a thorn bush.

The warriors' den is under a large bramble bush.

The medicine cat's den is in a cave under two boulders, and is surrounded by ferns.

The leader's den is beneath the roots of a big oak tree.

CrowSpirit woke up from a deep sleep and slowly got up. He stretched out his legs carefully, making sure he didn't bother any of the other cats while they were sleeping. His shadow towered over the other cats and he chuckled to himself, then he made his way out of the den, avoiding all of the others. Padding over to the fresh-kill pile, he looked down at it and noticed the food supply was rather low... "Guess we are gonna need a morning hunting patrol..." He muttered. He knelt down to pick up a vole and made his way to the high ledge to soak in the sun and gain warmth while he made a meal of the rodent. He ran across the dark clearing and jumped up onto the boulder, his massive paws landing in the center of the structure. CrowSpirit set his vole down and laid down upon the rock, his thick tail laying against the side of the rock. He grabbed the vole viciously and tore open the back of it's neck. "Hah! You're dead!" He muttered and took a large piece out of it's flesh.

Fallkit yawned as he was slowly waking up, seeing his brother nearby he slowly made his way over to him before laying back down beside him. "Heyyy waake up" he moaned to Acornkit before starting to fall back asleep.

The large tom lifted his ears, hearing a cat stirring in the nursery. CrowSpirit lowered his head once again and nuzzled the leftover bones from the vole into the pile of other bones off the rock. He rose from his position and stretched his legs far, his paws draping the side of the rock. Leaping from the large structure, he padded across the camp, checking on the other cats. Looking into each den, no cats seemed to be awake, so he padded back to the meeting rock. He hopped up, landing on the rock and collapsing upon it, his fur warm once again. "Mmmm. This is nice," the tom said, his tail flicking back and forth from pleasure of the warm sun's rays. Laying his head down, he rested his eyes and awaited the cats of Shadow Clan to arise from their deep sleep.

Acornkit yawned and squirmed in his spot after his sleep was disturbed by his brother. He tried pushing his brother away with his rear legs. "Noooo, not nooow." He whined, covering his own face with a paw.

Fallkit grumbled as he was getting pushed away, he brought a paw and weakly tried to push his face. "Yeeess, noooowww" He then squirmed back towards him to reclaim the position he was in originally.

Acornkit scrunched up his face as he was pawed at. The kit squeaked and got up lazily. His eyes were half open. "Whaaaaat-" He meowed looking at Fallkit. "Why'd you do this?"

Fallkit smiled as he laid there "Becaaaaause, you needed to get uuuuup" he casually replied smugly; before rolling onto his belly and slowly stood up and stretched out his legs. "Come oooon, we should go do some exploring!"

Darkcloud let out an irritable growl as sunlight poured into the warriors den. 'Why does it have to be morning already?' she thought, uncurling and stretching. 'Well, I guess it's time to get up and see what needs to be done.' Her claws dug into the moss as she hauled herself up to her paws and stretched once again. 'It's getting harder and harder to get up. Ugh. It's almost time to move into the nursery.' she thought grumpily while brushing out of the den and into the camp. She shook her fur out and glanced around, her gaze zeroing in on the freshkill pile. 'Eat first, hunt next.' With that in mind, she padded over to the pile, picked up a sparrow, and carried it over to a quiet spot and dug in.

Acornkit wrinkled his nose at Fallkit and lazily dragged himself away. "Wheeere?" He asked, his eyes lighting up with excitement.

OwlWing's eyed opened as the sunlight poured into the warriors den. Her muscles ached as she must of slept in a weird position that night. With a small irritated sigh, she heaved herself onto her paws. The back of her pelt twitched and she gazed at her left hind leg seeing a piece of a stick in her fur. She grabbed it with her teeth and spat it onto the ground. She proceeded to pad toward the den entrance pushing through as the brambles fought back to keep her inside. When she made it outside of the den, she shook herself free of any moss. Her piercing blue eyes squinted against the sun as she scanned the camp. She had not really met anyone since her arrival. Just simple greetings with names but starclan knows she will need to be told names repeatedly. Flicking her ears she headed over to the entrance pondering if she should go hunt by herself or wait for someone else to accompany her.

Darkcloud finished off her sparrow and licked her lips. ' That was good, but its time to go hunting now.' she thought to herself as she stood up and stretched again. She glanced around the camp. 'Should I go alone or with another cat? Well, with another cat, the pile will be filled faster...' she mused to herself, raking her claws through the dirt as she tried to decide what to do. 'Starclan knows we need all the fresh kill we can catch.'

OwlWing looked over at the she-cat whom just finished her meal and flicked her ears. She lifted her tail slightly swaying it side to side as she padded over to her.

"Hello." She said nonchalantly, "Would you like to go hunting with me? I'm OwlWing by the way I am new around here. What is your name?"

Her piercing blue eyes showed she had felt some discomfort in the introduction and indeed she felt as such. She hated introductions. She sometimes wish she new everyone and didn't have to do them.

Rowanflight had been up late in the nursery telling great tales of battle and adventures to the kits of the clan, his chest swelled with pride remembering their enraptured faces. However, now it was early morning and he'd been awake for a while, sitting outside the nursery entrance, grooming himself as he waited for the rest of the clan to awaken. He'd perked his ears as Darkcloud and Owlwing conversed near the fresh-kill pile, smiling to himself in content.

Deciding he should aquatint himself with the two of them, he got to his paws and padded over to the two, and upon overhearing Owlwing's invitation to Darkcloud, he couldn't help but butt in, "Mind if I tag along?" He questioned with an amused grin, his gaze drifting from one she-cat to the other. "Welcome to Shadowclan, by the way." He added hastily to Owlwing, not wanting her to feel unwelcome.

Owlwing flicked her ears upon hearing the tom pad rather loudly or maybe that was just because she was so quiet when walking. Her head unmoved while her eyes slid over to the right side getting a side ward glance at him. She finally decided to move her head completely so her full attention was on him as he spoke. She could tell right away by his carefree manner that he was an entertainer. She let a small smile grace her face as he welcomed her. She nodded once before speaking. "I wouldn't mind at all if you joined us."

She looked toward the entrance of the camp and felt sort of impatient. She wondered if it was a good idea to show off her climbing skills but decided strongly against it for now. The young cat then re-focused her gaze on the two cats in front of her. "Shall we head out?"

Badgerpelt flinched as he heard more cats inside camp wake up and start moving about. He had already been scolded multiple times for leaving camp at night and he had been getting the hang of returning before anyone woke up but it seemed that Crowspirit had gotten up early. Or I stayed out too long... Shaking the thought from his head Badgerpelt sighed. "Well, I can't stay out here forever and I'll probably get caught either way so Imight as well go in....." he muttered. Picking up the two mice he had caught while he was out Badgerpelt headed towards the camp entrance. As he came through the entrance Badgerpelt hoped the group of leaving cats would distract Crowspirit long enough for him to put the mice in the fresh-kill so he could at least respond when asked where he had been or why he had left.

Upon hearing a cat enter the camp the she-cats ears pricked straight up. She turned around, still keeping her ears open for an answer from her clanmates, she watched as the tom entered the camp. She blinked her eyes a few times in confusion by his behavior. He seemed to be slinking back into camp. He looked like a mouse about to be attacked by a starving tiger that had nothing else to prey upon. She then noticed his eyes had kept darting in the direction of their deputy and assumed that he was on bad terms with the superior. Shaking her head once the beautiful she-cat looked over her shoulders and murmured impatiently but not aggressively. "If you don't make a decision quickly I am going to leave without you"

Darkcloud shook her head as if coming out of a daze. "Oh, sorry, I was lost in my own thoughts. Its nice to meet you." she replied. Her whiskers twitched, sensing the other she-cat's discomfort. She gave friendly smile. "Don't worry, I only bite enemies. And sure, I'd like to go hunting. The fresh kill pile is always needing to be restocked." She replied to Owlwing. Then she turned to Rowanflight as he padded over. "I don't mind if you come. The bigger the hunting patrol, the more prey caught..." She trailed off, her attention turning to Badgerpelt as he slunk in. "Crowspirit will claw his ears off if he catches him." she said quietly to no one in particular.

Fallkit smiled tiredly from his brothers excitement "Maybe outside of camp? Not too far away" he suggested. Trying to get him and his brother outside the nursery, they were going to be apprentices soon enough. Why not explore a bit before hand?

Owlwing flicked her ears but returned the smile that Darkcloud had given her. Maybe she finally found a friend. She would have to see. "It is quite alright, everyone goes into a daze now and then. And it is nice to meet you too. I hope we can become friends." The she cat said with an amused grin before turning her attention to Badgerpelt. "Why is that?" She asked Darkcloud in particular before glancing at Rowanflight. "You can go ahead of us if you'd like, lead the patrol." She offered as she wanted to get to know Darkcloud more than the tom.

Darkcloud smiled. "I hope so too." she purred, and then turned to watch Badgerpelt once more. "He's been sneaking out of the camp at night without permission. Crowspirit is not very happy about it, and has told him to stop, so that's why I think Badgerpelt will be in a bunch of trouble this time." she meowed. Her ears flicked. "This is just my opinion, but I think that he's been seeing someone at night. A non-shadowclan cat, that's for sure. I should know; I did the same thing." she answered, saying the last part and flicking her tail against her swollen belly.

The wind buffeted cold air in their direction causing the she-cat to shiver lightly. 'The cold air is coming' she thought to herself as she gazed at Darkcloud. "Well if he is seeing a non-clan cat he should bring her to the clan. That would be the smartest idea." She said before she shook her head. "It is none of my business I shouldn't of asked." She really didn't want any drama to start as soon as she became part of the clan. She flattened her ears back taking a moment to think of something to say before she remembered the she-cat mentioning she saw a tom that wasn't shadowclan born. "When are you expecting your kits? I would be happy to help you if you need help. I could watch them when you are ready for a break or want to eat. Something like that." Her voice was filled with a suppressed excitement. Her eyes changed ever so slightly showing off the she-cat had a warm side. Even though Owlwing had a tough looking exterior and she was tough, she had a soft spot for kits. She wanted to give every kit the life she didn't have. She waned her own kits one day but she had no confidence in getting a mate with her kind of bi-polar attitude.

Rowanflight dipped his head in apology, having been lost in his thoughts as the two she-cats exchanged hello's and got to know each other. It was odd, the way she-cats seemed to migrate together when in a group, and become such quick friends at that! He supposed ti was a good asset to have, though. Though friendly by nature, Rowanflight had seemed to be having quite the trouble making friends as of late. Maybe that would change today.

The warrior grinned in reply to Owlwing's suggestion to lead the patrol; glad to put a little distance between himself and the two. Listening to bits and pieces of their conversation, he felt a bit left out. Not that he couldn't talk about kits, mind you. He had loads of interesting stories about the kits and the nursery, it just didn't seem the time for it; he'd leave them to their conversation for now.

Mindful to keep his pawsteps light, Rowanflight headed out into the thorn tunnel that served as the entrance to the camp. Immediately upon stepping out of the entrance, a cold wind blew through the tom's fur. For once he was thankful for it's thickness; it sure would help him stay warm. The warrior let his thoughts drift back to the clan, and the conversation bits he'd heard. The tom hadn't much of an opinion of Badgerpelt, having not talked with the other warrior himself. It wasn't any of Rowanflight's business what the other tom does at night, though he could see it becoming a problem later on.

Owlwing watched the tom walk in front of them both with small smile returning his own. She noticed that he seemed out of place and she wanted to work up a conversation with him but she was already into another conversation. She just continued to walk waiting for the other she-cats response.

The wind buffeted her fur while they walked against it into the forest. Her eyes scanned the grounds and ears perked for any sounds. She then glanced at the tom once more. "I saw you come out of the nursery. Are any of the kits there now yours?" She asked unsure because she didn't know him at all.

Acornkit stretched while squeezing his way out of the nursery and waited for his brother to lead the way. "Mmmm, far away is fun thooo." He meowed quietly, "Follow our noses!" He said with glee, his steps getting lighter.
