*Bouldestep turned his head in a questioning manor and mewed "I didn't quite catch what Clan you were from." and smoothed his curvy whiskers.*

Clawpaw nodded, relieved. Looking around, she spotted the Silentpaw, the Shadowclan medicine cat apprentice. Padding over, she mewed a greeting.

*Boulderstep was talking to Silentpaw and Clawpaw walked up. He grinned and boomed "Hello Clawpaw! How are you doing tonight?" and smiled widely.*

Swiftpaw crossed the log with his clanmates over to the Island and looked around at all the cats.

Darkthorn shrugged, balancing over the log. Balance was one of his weakest abilities, and he did not want to fall in the cold water below. He cast a quick glance at the rippling water and shrugged, quickening his pace over it and almost tripped over his feet as he went off the log. Shivering he silently walked into the Gathering area.

Runningstorm padded over the log after Darkthorn. Looking around, he felt slightly disappointed that Sparrowwings wasn't among the cats chosen for the gathering.

(Yeah, Boukderstep is awesome. He maybe frowned upon for his fatness but I made his super nice and friendly.)

*Boulderstep grinned widely to both Clawpaw and Silentpaw. He was a genuinely happy cat. At gatherings, most cats kept to them selves but Boulderstep tried to be the happiness of the crowd. He loved when cats were in good moods.*

Scartalon took up the rear of the WindClan gathering patrol. She quickly skidded across the log but lost her footing in the middle for she wasn't being very careful, it was the same slippery spot Firepaw had slipped on! She gasped as she slipped into the dark sparkling water. She struggled, wanting someone to help her out of the red and green reeds. It was deeper than it seemed!

Crowpaw sighed as Silentpaw left and another cat came to join the group. "Hey Thunderpaw. This is Sootpaw." He seemed tired with his tone of voice. "I hope the gathering starts soon..." he gave a fake yawn, not wanting to offend Thunderpaw, but he was slightly angry at her.

Darkthorn was about to enter the clearing and walk over to a few apprentices when he heard the choking and splashing and whipped around, his ears pricked to hear and his eyes straining to see what had happened. He saw a cat in the water, apparently struggling to get out. Figuring out that the reeds would make it a possibility to get stuck as well, he climbed to the middle of the log again and reached down, grabbing the scruff of the cat and hauling her out of the water. His back claws scraped into the log as he managed to pull the cat back onto the log. He almost tripped himself though, and his tail whirled wildly to regain the balance.

Scartalon coughed and hacked up a puddle of water. Then looked at Darkthorn. Her light cream and ginger pelt was covered with mud, including her face and ears. She hissed and flicked some from the tip of one of her ear. "Thanks... Darkthorn..." she meowed in an embarrassed tone.

Darkthorn grinned foolishly at her, suddenly realizing who it was. "No problem. You better get to your paws and groom of that mud though, or the other cats will think WindClan cats spend their freetime mudbathing their deputy." he joked and smirked, getting to his paws and jumping down from the log, flicking his tail and glancing back, inviting her to step off the log as well, before they happened to trip and fall again.

Swiftpaw looked around for some other cats he thought he might be able to get along with, he spotted no one right now so he just sat down next to a group of cats and stared up at the leaders.

Scartalon chuckled and followed Darkthorn off the log. "Yeah, I don't think RiverClan are here yet." She meowed and licked some mud off her flank. "I might have some time to clean off." She didn't want to walk out in front of everyone and THEN clean her fur.

Darkthorn smiled. "Here, let me help you." he said and settled down beside her, grooming her fur with smooth swipes of his tongue, helping out with the cleaning. It was quicker when they where two in the cleaning, rather than one cat by themself.

Scartalon purred softly but stopped after a heart-beat. She sat up straight and licked her chest fur with her rough tongue, then moved to her right front leg. When she was done with that leg she licked her paw and swiped it over her cheeks, and forehead, and ears. She was nearly clean now.

Darkthorn continued grooming her cream fur, and once he thought she was clean enough he stepped back, licking off the little mudwater that had attached itself to his whiskers. "Ready to go now, I believe?" he suggested, glancing towards the clearing where cats had begun to gather together and he could almost make out the coat of Sunstar and the other leaders up in the tree.

*Boulderstep lumbered over to the cat that fell in the water and gasped "Are you okay?" and was completely willig to help this cat he couldn't detect through the mud and stench.*

Darkthorn dipped his head and smiled softly, walking into the clearing and settling down amongst the cats. He didn't turn to look at any of the cats, nor did he show any signs of wanting to chatter with anyone. He simply watched the leaders, as well as the deputies. While keeping an eye upon the higher ranked cats, he made out the ShadowClan deputy settled down among the leaders, and narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

Swiftfoot was obviously nervous, shivering softly and thinking through what he should say in the speech. He would have to say why Coyotestar wasn't present, though decided to say that he was having a minor cough and decided to step down from this Gathering to relax and get better.
