RiverClan Territory

Territory Landmarks:

Camp - A well-drained island surrounded by the river and reeds. The other Clans' fear of water means this camp has never been attacked.

The Gorge - A deep gorge cut by the river in the terrain, border with WindClan. Apprentices are forbidden to go near it.

The River - A source of food and protection to the Clan. Sometimes, it is peaceful while other times, it floods.

Twoleg Bridge - A bridge built by Twolegs that allows the cats to go to Fourtrees when the river is high.

Camp Description:

The RiverClan Forest Camp is on a large, well-drained island, and is surrounded by reeds. All of the dens are tightly woven. It can be reached only by swimming, and as cats from other Clans cannot swim (and hate water, in general), the camp is rarely attacked. Floods present a danger. All dens are made up of tangles of reeds. It is mentioned that cats weave feathers in the reeds and decorate the edges with rocks and shells.
There is a well-trodden grass track leading away from the sedges and between thick bushes of the camp.

The medicine den is past a deep olive sedge and into a calm den.

The apprentice den has a warm coating of moss on it.

The nursery is tucked away into a thick sedge wall. It is made of willow branches and reeds.

The elders' den is at the high end of a slope. It is made of woven willow stems.

The leader's den is built of willow stems and woven into the roots of the ancient willow.

Sorrelstar slowly sauntered out of his den, stretching out his legs while doing so. He glanced around seeing the long shadows that was being casted by the morning sun

Jaytalon awoke from a deep and comforting slumber. There hadn't been much action going on in the clans lately so he had just decided to take a break from being a Deputy. Sure, there were a few fun hunting trips but besides that there wasn't much going on. He stood up and yawned, then flexed, digging his claws into the earth's surface. He walked outside to the fresh-kill pile to get a bite to eat.

Fishleap stretched luxuriously as he slinked out of the warrior's den, blinking in the sun. Seeing Jaytalon by the fresh kill pile, he nodded his head respectfully at his deputy before padding over to him. "Nice morning, isn't it?" The tabby Tom mewed as he selected a trout from the pile.

Hearing his stomach growl, Sorrelstar headed towards the fresh kill pile. "Morning" he greeted the two as he went and grabbed a small fish for himself

Jaytalon dipped his head in greeting to Sorrelstar and then turned towards Fishleap. "Yes, quite, one of the best in awhile, actually." He smiled a little and grabbed a plump pigeon from the pile and sat it down next to him, taking a huge bite from it, he was a very hungry cat.

Fishleap nodded in agreement, taking a bite of the trout. Swallowing, he mewed" Have there been any signs of those rouges today? I hope that yesterday's fight taught them a well deserved lession about Clan boundaries."

Jaytalon finished his pigeon rather fast and jokingly nuzzled Fishleap. "As long as I'm deputy I don't think they'll be coming back," he laughed.

Oakkit yawned as she woke up. she poked her head out of the nursery and looked around camp. she flicked her tail and took another step out of the den. 'I can't wait until I'm a warrior!' she thought to herself.

Jaytalon heard footsteps from the direction of the Nursery. He turned in that direction to see Oakkit. He smiled kindly grabbed a fish from the pile, then walked to her and dropped it at her feet. "If you want to become a warrior you need to eat and get strong first," he chuckled.

Oakkit looked up at Jaytalon when he dropped the fish. "Thank you Jaytalon!" she purred then started to take a bite of the fish. then looked back up at him. "when will I get to be a apprentice? I'm almost 6 moons."

Fishleap watched Oakkit with amusement. "You'll be an apprentice soon enough." He mewed to the young Kit. "Enjoy your kithood while you can."

He nuzzled the kit playfully and purred in return. "You're of age. I think you'll enter your apprenticeship when someone decides to mentor you. Don't worry though, I'm pretty sure we'll announce it at our next clan gathering."

Sorrelstar sniggers in amusement at the kits enthusiasm of becoming an apprentice. "Don't worry, soon enough you will become an apprentice. Just need to wait a little more"

Oakkit purred and lashed her tail. "ok!" she squeaked then started to hop around camp looking for something to do. she was happy to have great clanmates they were always there when she needed them to be. she purred louder just thinking about it.

Smokestripe opened her eyes, blinking at the morning light that made its way into her den. She sighed as she realized she had slept in. She gave herself a quick grooming and made her way out of her den to the fresh-kill pile. She gave a nod to the cats in the clearing.
"Good morning," she said as she grabbed a water vole from the fresh-kill pile.

Jaytalon dipped his head in respect towards the Medicine Cat. "Good morning, Smokestripe. How'd you sleep?" He asked.

Smokestripe yawned. "All right, I suppose. The wind kept me up. And I was worried there would be frost. I need to collect as many herbs as I can before leafbare."
She took a bite of her vole.

Oakkit padded up to Smokestripe. "Can I come with you when you go!? please!? I could help bring back some of the herbs!" she said hopefully as she sat down looking up at Smokestripe.

Riverpaw was just a couple fox lengths outside the camp. He stretched out his muscles and flexed his claws into the ground underneath him. The sun shined down on his pelt, giving a rather nice warmth. Despite the weather growing colder as the days past, he knew a spot that was almost always warm.

Smokestripe finished her vole and ran a paw over her face.
"You know you're not allowed to go out of the camp until you're an apprentice," she told Oakkit, sighing. Kits.
She got up and walked over to Jaytalon. "Is there anyone you can spare to come with me to collect herbs?"

Oakkit sighed then padded by a tree and laid down bored. she watched a leaf as the wind blew and made it roll around on the ground. the tip of her tail twitched then she leaped on the leaf and bit it acting like it was a mouse or vole.

Riverpaw gave his pelt a shake and then trotted back into camp. He looked around and saw Oakkit playing with a leaf. His eyes glinted with amusement.

Oakkit looked up and saw Riverpaw and smiled at him. "Hi Riverpaw!" she started to pad towards him. "have you been hunting yet today?"

"Hello, Oakkit!" Riverpaw said, "Not yet I haven't. I just got back from outside the camp, but I didn't see anything. " He twitched the tip of his tail.
