Alright, so. In my time of RPing I've come across a rather awesome way that I personally think works brilliantly... Now, let me explain it out to you in different bulks:
--- Increased pressure on leader & deputy RPers --- The basics behind this is that I personally feel like the leader and deputy needs more to do. Right now they're kind of forced to wait for the staff to make up plots, which in turn makes it roll pretty slowly (in my mind). What we should do is make a main plot, and then allow the owners of the leaders and deputies to make up ideas for sideplots that can be lead alongside these. Whether it be natural disasters or cozy gatherings, something of some sort that makes people more active within their clan. I'm thinking a board could be created for each of these, and then they could be given a "role" sort of speaking. A colour, perhaps? I'm pretty sure you can put the colour to the standard member colour anyway, so it doesn't have to be a coloured username. Just set up a group for these two members, one for each clan (ThunderClan HR (high-rank), ShadowClan HR etc.) and make a board that can only be viewed by the representatives from each clan and the administrators.
This is to say, they have a bigger impact on what happens. The administrators still has to confirm/accept the plot, but the leader and deputy still has a say/vote in the matter. The medicine cat may also be part of the team, since they're pretty high-ranked as well.
This idea will be kind of crucial if the next suggestion I make is implemented, since it'll require more activity from the leader of the clan. Anyway, moving on:
--- Activity checks ---Last time WL opened, we were struggling with inactivity. It's a sad issue, but we need to get something done with it. Some may be familiar with the dA groups that present a Warriors-based theme, where they require an activity check to be done every month or two. This is to rule out all the inactive members. If we do this, I suggest we make a clan-wide announcement/event that'll give them all a situation they have to draw or write a story for. It doesn't have to be high-quality or particularly long (if it's a story), just enough to let us know you still want your cat alive. Because honestly, if you don't care for your cat you won't do the check will you?
A badger raid, foxes attacking the nursery or a day of sharing tongues/relaxing, there's endless possibilities for events that could be used.
Personally I think it's a good idea. A new thread could be made for submitting them, one for each clan. I'd also suggest opening a thread where people can ask for excuses/extensions, depending on whether they're going to be away or not. It's important that people get the news of the check a month ahead, so they're not flabbergasted when an assignment is given.
This is to regulate the amount of cats in a clan. I also think that the staff needs to make such assignments for the leaders to complete as well, to make sure they're active too. If the leader is away the deputy has to inform about the check, if they're both gone a RP moderator has to get in there and do the job for them. In the end, if a leader/deputy fails to do their job they will be fired (dead) and a new cat will take their place.
--- Cat-cap ---A small cap that limits the amount of cats each clan can have that are made from scratch. This will promote getting a rogue, and working through the process of being accepted. A cap will have to be given on how many cats can join in total as well. For this I suggest these numbers:
- 25/30 clanborn cats
- 5 rogues/outsiders
I haven't read into the new things implemented already, but a cap might have to be given for albinos, bi-coloured eyes, missing limbs etc. unless you're planning/have implemented these into the clawshards shop.
A limit of how many cats a user can have in each clan might be nice as well.
Just some suggestions for the time being. I do enjoy messing with the business that I no longer have anything to do with, but heh. Just thought I'd throw it out there in the hopes that it'll help you improve (if you enjoy the ideas I presented, that is).
